I'd like to take a moment to remember a war hero and United States Senator who recently passed away - Senator Lloyd Bentsen.
Bensen served in the Senate from 1970-1993. He was a WW II Army pilot, and he ran for VP in 1988.
Interestingly enough, he probably could have been the nominee in 1992 for the Democrats, but he apparently decided at the time that no one could defeat George H.W. Bush. As we all know, Bush's popularity sunk and Clinton became President.
Bentsen was a great public servant. While I don't speak for this blog, I would like us all to remember him.
