Brad Carson --

For those of you who don't know -- Brad Carson is a bright, young Senate candidate from Oklahoma. He is a member of the House of Representatives right now. And, he is a Democrat that is likely to win a close race to succeed retiring Senator Don Nickles.

Now, I know that many who read this blog are big time supporters of Carson. I also know that many of these same folks support John F. Kerry.

Let's look at the record --

- Carson votes with the NRA almost everytime. Kerry is very pro gun control. Yesterday, Carson voted to repeal all gun laws in Washington, DC

- Carson is pro-life and believes partial birth abortion should be outlawed. Kerry is pro-choice.

-- Carson supports an amendment to the Constitution to ban gay marriage. Kerry opposes it.

Seems to me that Carson is much more conservative than Kerry, Kennedy, and Hilary Clinton. Much more conservative than Howard Dean?

How can those who read this blog who are such ardent supporters of Kerry, Kennedy, Dean and Clinton support Carson? Is it simply because he has a "D" next to his name on the ballot that marks his party affiliation?

Please explain.

We in Oklahoma have two choices for Senator. Brad Crason who is one of the most right wing Democrats of all time or Tom Coburn who is further right than Tom Delay and very well might be crazy. With that choice I will choose Brad Carson everytime.

Tom Coburn in this campaign has called Carson evil, Native Americans idiots and called for the execution of all people who perform abortions. Given this choise I will choose Brad Carson every single time. At least he does not steralize women without their consent.

So yes I will hold my nose and vote for the most right wing person I have every voted for but considering the alternative I would do it every day.
