Trolling: Yanni
Yanni, you have never contributed anything positive to the discourse on this blog. To the extent that you are unable to do so, you will not be allowed to continue to slander Colin nor myself. If you need a forum for your infantile rants, go get your own blog. Until then, be on notice that none of your banal blather will last much longer than it takes Colin or me to delete it. Finally, if you think that's communist, then you have as much of an understanding of capitalism as W does about fiscal restraint.
P.S. Sorry for deleting your posts too Stephanie... I appreciate your giving Yanni what for but I'd prefer to keep all of this off of the blog.

Although I haven't posted much here, I'm shocked and disappointed to discover that "[t]his blog is supposed to be a place to discuss current events in a mature (yet fun) way."
If this is truly the purpose of this blog, then I guess I shouldn't post what I wanted to post, but, well, here it is anyway:
Pee-pees and wee-wees! Pee-pees and wee-wees! Pee-pees and wee-wees! Pee-pees and wee-wees!
welllll.... Colin will have to make the call on this blog's purpose being to have mature yet fun discussions...
That having been said, Logan, don't worry. You've clearly passed the bar with your thoughtful post.
Tim, et. al.
I freely admit to, at times, posting immature and humorous meesages on this blog. Sometimes under my own name, others under anonymous.
However, I am not the culprit for all of the emails you have attributed to me.
I enjoy reading the blog, and I enjoy posting counterpoints too. I have long felt that this blog needs a moderating voice in it. And, to stifle that voice is to punish dissent.
Liberal Democrats claim that Bush calls them unpatriotic for opposing the war in Iraq and for opposing the Patriot Act. But, here, you are basically trying to silence me (a) for my views; and (b) for posts, many of which, weren't even mine.
I thought the purpose of this blog was to have a fun dialogue - both mature and immature.
Isn't the free exchange of ideas a contributing factor to an enlightened society? What kind of blog is this if it just wants to censor???
These are important questions to answer. Inquiring minds want to know.
DON'T CENSURE YANNI!!! FREE YANNI!!!
RUMSFELD/ASHCROFT '08!!!
P.S.
Just because I don't agree with you politically doesn't mean I have not contributed anything positive to this blog.
Don't we believe in diversity here? Don't my liberal friends here believe that diversity is a good thing - that we can learn from each other? The free flow of ideas is how we learn.
I'm not asking for a quota on the number of posts I can make, all I'm asking is that I not be punished just for expressing alternative views.
RUMSFELD/ASHCROFT '08
NOTE: I am actually not for Rumsfeld/Ashcroft in '08, that is an immature, ridiculous comment. But, I also think it is funny too - an immature, yet positive thought to ponder on this blog.
As someone who isn't acquainted with any of you (although I do have a few really really good Yanni albums), I will say that I am disappointed that the blog will be censored.
The thoughtful analysis and sometimes playful discourse among friends was fun to read.
I speak for all of those who don't know any of you but still read this blog in saying "Please lighten up. Allow everyone to speak up and don't censor the blog like some Gestapo storm trooper."
Thank you, "Tim", for your concern but leave the site as is!
To steal a page from "Yanni"--FRIST/MARTHA STEWART 2008 -- The All SEC presidential ticket.
PS--I'm not a Republican so please don't censor me. In fact, I'm an independent from the great state of Iowa. Go cows! Go milk! Mooo! Yanni rules! "Stephanie" is a baby! Waa waa baby wants her bottle!
For what it's worth, the initial comments that were deleted were the several recent comments that had no substance to them other than to slander Colin.
Subsequently, I deleted a number of back and forth comments because they were not germane to the purpose of this blog. In no instance did I supress anyone's post based on their politics nor did I favor either of the 'back and forth' posters when I deleted their comments.
I will refrain from deleting the comment immediately preceding this comment despite the gratuitous attack appended to it. However, I will offer the following caveat: Comments that needlessly attack another commentator or the authors of this blog may be deleted without notice. This policy is effective until Colin decides otherwise. The implication that this degree of censorship is akin to the actions of a 'gestapo storm trooper' is hyperbolic to say the least and incredibly offensive to say no more.
To Yanni: To the extent that there are 'trolling' comments that are not attributable to you, I withdraw my attribution with apologies. I would note, however, that several of the slanderous comments were associated with IP addresses from the US Senate. This lead me to believe that similar posts came from a source within the Senate.
Tim -
I appreciate your apologies. I can affirm to you that the Manning brothers and I play around all the time and jokingly insult each other. I do also affirm, however, that not all of the comments you refer to were mine. I appreciate the opportunity you provide here to allow me to continue to post thoughtful, sometimes immature, but hopefully thought provoking comments on this blog.
The idea that censorship is bad and diversity is good might be the first ideas we can agree on.
Now, Frist/Stewart '08 - a very interesting, pro business ticket.
How about Cheney/Estrada?
