Why does Bush hate free speech?

Bush and other ultra right wingers, like Yani, are now trying to get legislation that would attempt to eliminate the right of free speech for everyone but political candidates. Why does a political candidate have a greater right to access to the PUBLIC airwaves than I do or Moveon.org does? Yes people like Swift Boat Veterans for Lies use the airwaves to spread lies and spew hate but no one said that democracy and freedom was easy and clean. Maybe, instead of trying to destroy the 1st Amendment the Repubs should just denounce the ads that they know are false or do not support. John Kerry did that with the latest Moveon.org ad that attacked Bush's being AWOL from the Guard. Maybe the Admin needs to take a cue on leadership from Kerry instead of trying to limit our freedoms.

Will Kerry condemn F 9/11 as Bob Kerrey did? F 9/11 is filled with lies, atleast according to Bob Kerrey, a Democrat.

When you have seen the movie then you can talk about it.

Political candidates should be the first to have their freedom of speech limited. If they choose not to use their equal time, I'm certainly not going to cry about it. Allow the other groups and individuals to use the airwaves in pursuit of truth, or to spread lies. Sometimes when the lies surface, the truth finally emerges.
And on the topic of bashing a movie one's never seen. I haven't had a chance to see Farenheit so won't weigh in.. but the same phenomenon happened with "Passion of the Christ." Gung-ho fundamentalists waving their hands in support of the movie and come to find out, they hadn't seen it. Ridiculous.

I am intrigued by many of the comments on here that I have not seen F 9-11. How do you all know I have or haven't seen the movie? Just because I tend to vote Republican doesn't mean I haven't seen the movie. It is that kind of stereotyping that gets people and governments in trouble.

Now, with respect to protecting our Constitution - I want to know why the Kerry campaign is trying to prevent people from voting for the candidate of their choice? All over the country Kerry supporters are filing lawsuits to keep Nader off the ballot. Americans should be able to vote for who they choose. If Nader has gotten the requisite signatures, people should be able to vote for him. Please tell your buddies to stop trying to suppress Americans' right to vote!
