People Powered Victory
The Daily Kos has a list of the winners and losers from last night. I would say that the winners are the People of CT and America. It is time for real people who stand up against the DLCs and the lobbyist money to take power in this election. On top of that Lamont was standing with 2/3 of Americans when he says that it is time to find a way out of the war. If you wish to contribute here is Lamont's Website. We are less than 100 days to election and now is the time to fight for the future of this country.

How about this blog asking for financial contributions for a REAL candidate with a LEGITIMATE shot to win in November?
I propose we put a link to the fundraising arm of J. Staley Heatly - who is running for District Attorney.
Heatley is a no-nonsense, serious attorney with a long track record of standing up for what's right.
I am so sick of the use of the catch-phrase "fight" when it comes to politics.
In the last Presidential election, how often did we have to hear about Kerry was going to "fight" for something or how Edwards was "fighting for us."
Now, this blog is adopting the word "fight."
Well, for one - I think this is a stupid phrase to use. No one is fighting at all. Secondly, it sends a bad message to kids to have "leaders" talk so much about "fighting." Third, how about you stop fighting and start actually doing something productive.
I could go on an on.
The only other catch-phrase I hate more is how football players in particular, always refer to others as "warriors." Ray Lewis - he is playing hurt. What a warrior. McNair - he is a warrior too.
Give me an f'ing break. They are million dollar football players. If they want to be a soldier and a warrior, they should follow in Pat Tilman's foot steps. Now, he was a role model.
I love football and this blog as much as the next guy - but these little phrases should stop.
Mom - do you agree with me on this one? Let's join forces - two warriors from opposite sides of the aisle. We can pin our ears back and fight the use of dumb catchphrases.
Lets start the "war of catchphrases" with things like "the war on ...." fill in drugs, terrorism, poverty... Next lets move to things like death tax, pro-abortion, cut and run/tax and spend liberal , flip-flopper... should I go on? To me it seems that the repubs have been masters of the catchphrase and is one of the reasons dems get their asses kicked. Because we can't sum up our philospohy in 5 words instead it takes 5 pharagraphs which do not fit in a 30 second tv spot. So what is the solution?
