I'll be darned, I agree with George Will again...
That's never a good sign. It must be b/c of my lack of an independent mind... (btw, Yanni, you may have the power to post, but I have the power to Shit-can. Something to think about while you're insulting the other bloggers...).
Anyway, I think Will is on the money here when he talks about the absurdity of treating college sports as though they are not-for -profit... Not that I expect that to change in my lifetime.

Tim - not sure how I insulted anyone. Please enlighten me. You can email me directly. Certainly, that was not my intent. If you are saying I insulted Canon by calling him a Lieberman volunteer, that is a fact, not an insult.
Ah, I see now. You think I am insulting some element of this blg by saying they aren't indepedent thinkers. I think that you, Colin, et. al., are great thinkers. When I say "independent thinker" I am referring to the fact that I believe both of you are big time liberals, unabashingly, and that you probably rarely, if ever, vote for a Republican. I believe parts of this blog are far, far more into party poltics than I am. I support and urge support for those candidates who are independent and stand up to party politics. I am for those folks who say... politics be dammed, I'm doing what I think is right. McCain, Lieberman, John Warner, Mark Warner...
As for your post, I agree with you that the tax exemption should seriously be looked at. The whole concept of the student-athlete at big-time college football and basketball programs is a joke.
What they hell happened between Yanni and Tim? Yanni, you might want to be careful. Tim's crazy. Seriously. Fucking crazy. That dude scares me. But he's a nice guy though. Yeah, Tim's alright by me. I sure did like those Cowboy steaks. If the shit goes down, I'm with Tim. Fuck Yanni.
